As part of a comprehensive EU-funded initiative (ERDF), Archimedes, Berlin is developing an electronic treatment table – complete with patient. The SimMed project is one of the Berlin schemes Senator for Economics Harald Wolf unveiled on Wednesday 26 May at a press conference hosted by Archimedes.
Ulrich von Zadow, head of software at Archimedes, and his team have joined forces with scientists from Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin to design software that medical students can use for training in child diagnostics.
SimMed stands for “simulated medical treatments”: the SessionDesk presents realistic training scenarios in such a way that the virtual child responds differently to touch depending on the illness.
