Optical technologies play an important role in many components of micro-systems engineering. They are useful in the generation, transmission, conversion and verification of light. Microoptical systems facilitate substance determination, medical examinations and the generation of images and signals. At the optical bench, visitors can explore the characteristics of light by placing a lens, diaphragm, prism, slide, mirror or fiber optic cable in the path of the light beam. Multiple effects can only be generated when they freely combine the optical components. The light can be turned on with the press of a button.
